Tuberculosis Vaccine Treatment

Tuberculosis vaccine treatment focuses on preventing infection caused by the bacteria that lead to tuberculosis. Vaccines help the immune system recognize and respond to the bacteria, reducing the risk of severe disease. Treatment may also involve medications to manage or prevent infection spread.

Yeah that’s pretty much it! The BCG vaccine is the main one they use — it’s been around forever and works really well for kids especially. For adults it’s a bit hit or miss though.

The thing is, if you actually get TB the vaccine won’t cure it — you’d still need a full round of antibiotics which can take like 6 months or more. The vaccine is really just there to prep your immune system beforehand.

They’re also working on better vaccines since the current one has its limits. But overall you summed it up pretty well!
